The Exuma Islands: Day 1

Sally and I, along with 6 other castaways set sail in December of 2022 for a sailing adventure in the Exuma Islands just East of Nassau, Bahamas. The 6 others, Jay and Gaye Bugenhagen, Moe and Tarn Kelsey, and Steve and Denise Bevington set sail in strong winds for an exhilerating first day of sailing.

The Exuma Cays, a group of some 365 cays and islands is part of the Bahamas, West Indies. The Exuma Cays begin 35 miles East-Southeast of Nassau and stretch southeast in a curving arc for about 90 miles through beautiful crystal blue clear water. Blue skies and temperatures in the 80’s greeted us.
